No wind and a clear sky made for the perfect ballooning weather.

LONE HOT AIR BALLOON
AGAINST THE COLLEGIATE PEAKS

BUENA VISTA, CO

What can we say!?! Watching hot air balloons rise on a perfectly clear morning against the backdrop of the mountains outside of Buena Vista, is breathtaking!

On this day there was virtually no wind and no clouds. The hot air balloons went up, moved around a bit and came down litterally a few hundred feet from where they took off. In ballooning terms, this is called, "flying in a box."
Many people traveled here from all over Colorado to see these techicolor marvels. The morning was crisp and cool, perfect for launching your hot air balloon.

We arrived early to watch the pilots unfurl their balloons.
A Cup of coffee in one hand and a digital camera in the other (not bad, eh).

Hot air balloons can launch fairly quickly.
Hot air balloons can be unrolled, filled with air, and taking to the skies in about 30 minutes.
Oh, what we would have given to be up in one of these balloons that day!
